Sorena Charitable and Social Association (SCSA) is a non-profit, non-political organization established in New Zealand. Our primary mission is to foster educational, cultural, and social awareness among the wider community—particularly those from Persian-speaking backgrounds, including Iranian and Afghan individuals—and to help them integrate smoothly into New Zealand society. We also strive to introduce the Kiwi and Māori cultural values to newcomers, promoting cross-cultural understanding and goodwill.
Driven by charitable purposes, all income and assets of SCSA are dedicated to supporting our community-focused initiatives. These initiatives range from offering guidance on immigration and legal matters, to organizing social, cultural, and educational programs that enhance community engagement. We also work to connect and support Iranian and Afghan students, refugees, and retirees by providing information, assistance, and scholarships that help them thrive in their new environment.
At SCSA, we believe in the power of shared knowledge and cultural exchange. Through events, workshops, publications, and online resources, we aim to nurture a welcoming space for dialogue and learning. Whether it’s connecting newcomers with essential services, providing mentorship opportunities, or hosting community gatherings, our goal is to build bridges of friendship and understanding between Persian-speaking communities and the people of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Key Areas of Focus Include:
- Facilitating social and educational programs for immigrants, students, and retirees.
- Offering guidance on immigration procedures, housing, health, and legal matters.
- Highlighting Kiwi and Māori cultural heritage while celebrating Persian traditions.
- Supporting those in need—especially in times of crisis—with charitable aid and resources.
- Collaborating with local partners to organize workshops, exhibitions, and community-building events.
By combining resources and expertise, Sorena Charitable and Social Association aspires to create a positive impact on the lives of individuals in New Zealand, celebrating diverse cultures and fostering unity through education, collaboration, and mutual respect. We invite you to join us in our efforts to build a more inclusive, caring, and vibrant community for everyone.
